On March 6, Pennsylvania College of Technology will host an anatomy tournament for high school students using Anatomage Table 3D technology. Winning teams will receive Penn College scholarships and be invited to the national Anatomage Tournament in Las Vegas. In the photo, Penn College surgical technology students use Anatomage Tablets, which feature the same digitized cadaver imagery as the life-size Anatomage Tables that will be used in the tournament.
Twenty teams from 12 high schools are set to gather at Pennsylvania College of Technology on March 6 to test their anatomy knowledge using a unique learning technology from Anatomage Inc.
In addition to challenging the competitors’ knowledge of anatomical structures, the Anatomage Tournament will provide participants with hands-on experience using Anatomage Table 3D technology. The Anatomage Table offers life-size digital images of the human body and real patient cases.
Contests involving the top eight teams will be livestreamed on Penn College’s YouTube channel.
Outside of the competition, the college’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences will provide educational workshops and hands-on activities to expose students to health care career paths.
Members of the tournament’s first-, second- and third-place teams will be awarded scholarships to pursue their education in health care majors at Penn College, thanks to sponsorship of the event by several health care partners. Competition Sponsors are Bayada Home Health Care, Geisinger Medical Center and Mount Nittany Medical Center. Workshop Sponsors are UPMC and WellSpan Health.
Each year, Anatomage Inc. hosts more than 40 regional tournaments across the country. Anatomage Tournaments are designed to support students’ anatomy and physiology learning while fostering collaboration and teamwork. The Penn College Anatomage Regional Tournament marks the first in northcentral Pennsylvania.
The top four teams will be invited to participate the National Anatomage Tournament in Las Vegas.
