Penn College Athletics recently hosted its 10th National Girls & Women in Sports Day clinic. Over 60 young participants signed up for this year’s event and had the opportunity to participate in five of the college’s women’s sports: basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
NGWSD is an opportunity to recognize the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and the day provides the opportunity to honor the progress made by women in sports.
“This clinic is one of our favorite to put on each year, as it allows our current student-athletes here at Penn College to inspire the younger generation by showcasing the outstanding role models they are through their dedication, their social skills, their leadership and their pride as women in sports,” said Britni E. Mohney, assistant director of athletics and women’s basketball head coach. “This day helps us celebrate the impact sports has had on our lives and the confidence we gain from being surrounded by passionate girls who grow up to be strong women.”
