Alumnus offering free demo of his video game

Monday, January 27, 2025

Gamers can embark on a high seas adventure for free, thanks to a demo of Hullbreaker, a video game created by Pennsylvania College of Technology alumnus Dalton R. Neece as part of his senior project. Neece, who graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in game & simulation programming, debuted the pay-version of Hullbreaker on Steam, a popular video game distribution service, earlier this month. The two-to-four player game features pirate ships battling for sea supremacy.

He recently provided the free demo of the game as both a promotional tool and an avenue to seek user feedback.

“The free demo contains about 70% of the actual game,” Neece said. “The main parts not in the demo are the dynamic weather system and the ability to improve your ship. However, you can still engage in combat, customize your flag and play Liars Dice in the lobby.”

The free demo can be accessed on Steam.
