Justin W. Beishline, assistant dean of diesel technology and natural resources at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been appointed to a corporate relations post at the college, effective today.
In his new role as corporate relations officer, Beishline, a Penn College alumnus, will cultivate corporate relationships for academic programs based at the college’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center, including forestry, landscape-horticulture technology, diesel technology, on-site power generation and heavy construction equipment. Additionally, he will work with programs for architecture and sustainable design, building construction technologies, and industrial and computer technologies.
Beishline has served as an assistant dean since 2015; he was an instructor of diesel equipment technology from 2008 to 2015. While on faculty, he was among the recipients of Caterpillar’s student-nominated Pathfinder to Excellence Award.
Before joining Penn College, the Benton native worked for nine years in industry, holding positions such as diesel technician, service writer, warranty manager and service manager.
“We are thrilled to have Justin join the College Relations team,” said Loni N. Kline, senior vice president for college relations. “In his previous role as assistant dean, he played a significant role in building corporate relationships for the academic division of diesel technologies and natural resources. Now, he will do so on a much larger scale. Justin brings to the role a wealth of experience in industry, teaching and administration. He understands the needs of our students and those of our industry partners, which is a perfect pairing to build mutually beneficial relationships.”
Beishline earned an associate degree in diesel equipment technology in 2000 and a bachelor’s degree in technology management in 2002. He also holds a Master of Education in instructional technology from Penn State.
He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1997-2003 as an M1A1 Abrams Tank crewman, and he is certified by Automotive Service Excellence as a Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician.
A search will be conducted for a new assistant dean of diesel technology and natural resources. Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies, will cover Beishline’s responsibilities in the interim.
