Marking the first successful "wrapped" vehicle in Penn College's General Services fleet are (from left): Chad L. Karstetter, horticulturist/grounds and motorpool manager; Robert C. Ogden, grounds and motorpool assistant; Adam M. Bailey, duplicating and finishing operator; Tina M. Miller, director of public relations and marketing; Ken W. Engel, coordinator of digital publishing; Liz Young, graphic designer/project coordinator; and Deborah K. Peters, art director.
The first “wrapped” vehicle in Penn College’s General Services fleet has rolled off the “production line.” A joint effort of General Services and Public Relations & Marketing, the Toyota Tacoma truck will serve as a marketing tool and information resource as it moves throughout the college’s three campuses and the community.
The idea to spruce-up the vehicles started with a conversation between Chad L. Karstetter, horticulturist/grounds and motorpool manager, and Robert C. Ogden, grounds and motorpool assistant.
“We discussed how GS fleet vehicles are all over campus: We run to get parts, we are parked in town, we help with student projects, and so on,” Karstetter explained. “We talked about how we could have QR codes that potential students, students, staff, faculty and visitors could use to see what Penn College offers.”
The idea moved forward, with Ogden receiving training on installing auto wraps, followed by the design creatives in Public Relations & Marketing working their magic, too.
“The PRM group stated we could do these wraps in-house (in Printing & Document Services), and here we are today,” Karstetter said. “The PRM group hit a home run with this first wrap.”
Plans are to wrap five more trucks and a van used by the electrical technology major for its community service projects.
“This is a fantastic addition to the college’s brand communications portfolio, designed and produced with passion and precision,” said Carlos Ramos, director of strategic marketing. “It’s a great example of the collaborative spirit and maker culture that thrives across campus.”

With the General Services' vehicles regularly moving throughout Penn College's campuses and in the community, they are ideal "ambassadors" to share college information.
