A longtime partner of Pennsylvania College of Technology recently donated to one of the school’s largest programs.
Employees of High Steel Structures LLC – through the High Foundation – contributed $3,400 for use in the college’s welding program. Over 360 students are enrolled in the welding & metal fabrication program cluster at the college.
“Penn College is grateful for our long-standing partnership with High Steel Structures and the High Foundation,” said Shanin L. Dougherty, corporate relations officer. “Their generous support contributes to the success of Penn College students, both on campus and in the workforce.”
Jacob Fisher, plant manager at High Steel Structures and a 2010 Penn College welding alumnus, presented the $3,400 check to James N. Colton II, assistant professor of welding and co-department head.
“As a representative of High Steel Structures and the High Foundation, it’s an honor to support the next generation of welding professionals,” Fisher said. “I know, firsthand, the value of a Penn College education and the vital role the school fulfills in preparing students for highly skilled technical careers.”
A supporter of Penn College for 20 years, High Steel Structures is one of the largest steel fabricators in North America. The company is a member of the Visionary Society ($100,000-$499,999) on Penn College’s Donor Wall.
