During a Monday interview, set to air on WNEP-TV's 6 p.m. Wednesday newscast, WNEP anchor/reporter Jon Meyer (center) and Penn College automotive restoration student Ty M. Tucker prepare to embark on a trip back in time in the 1948 Tucker restored by Penn College students. Tucker is the great-great grandson of Preston Tucker, the legendary automotive figure responsible for the car.

WNEP-TV’s Jon Meyer visited campus on Monday to produce an “On the Pennsylvania Road” segment regarding the 1948 Tucker restored by Pennsylvania College of Technology students. One of those students is Ty M. Tucker, of Columbia, the great-great grandson of Preston Tucker, the legendary automotive figure responsible for the car.

Meyer interviewed Ty and fellow student Luke M. Stitt, of New Cumberland, who is president of the Penn College Classic Cruisers club. He also spoke to Roy H. Klinger, collision repair instructor and co-department head. Ty took an enthusiastic Meyer for a spin around campus in the car, which received the First Junior Award at the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Eastern Division National Fall Meet in Hershey.

The “On the Pennsylvania Road” segment is scheduled to air Wednesday during WNEP’s 6 p.m. newscast.

Meyer and his photographer/producer, Paul Kielbasa, talk to Tucker about his personal connection to the car. The segment will be featured in WNEP's "On the Pennsylvania Road" segment.
