Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society inducts members

The Penn College chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society for nurses, recently celebrated its newest inductees.

The Penn College Omega Theta Chapter comprises students, faculty and other local nurses.

The new members, all pursuing bachelor's degrees in nursing, are:

  • Lauren R. Bleistein, of Williamsport
  • Nancy Chan, of Milton
  • Alexis L. Cramp, of Williamsport
  • Haley N. Damgaard, of Bellefonte
  • Rachel E. Dostick, of Muncy
  • Marley Gresh, of Watsontown
  • Madison J. Herriman, of Danville
  • Caitlyn A. Kleinfelter, of Lebanon
  • Morgan C. McCormick, of Danville
  • Alyson Thiel, of Berlin, Maryland

To be eligible for membership in Sigma Theta Tau as an undergraduate, students must complete half of their bachelor’s degree nursing curriculum, achieve academic excellence in the form of a 3.0 or higher GPA, rank in the top 35 percent of their graduating class and meet the expectation of academic integrity.

To be eligible for membership as a nurse leader, a candidate must be legally recognized to practice nursing in their country, have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree (or the equivalent) and demonstrate achievement in nursing.

Sigma’s mission is to develop nurse leaders anywhere to improve health care everywhere.
