Information shared by Roy H. Klinger, instructor of collision repair at Pennsylvania College of Technology, is featured in a short video on The Weather Channel. The 1:19-minute piece, titled “Autumn Leaves Could be Eating Away at Your Car,” warns viewers that, “As beautiful as fall foliage is, those colorful leaves piling up on your car can cause serious damage, from stripping away paint to clogging your car’s air systems.”

Klinger responded to an inquiry sent to Penn State and relayed to Penn College. The Weather Channel highlights Klinger's name and the college's with the faculty member’s warning: “Wet leaves can also get stuck in your cooling and filtration systems, sending mold spores into your car’s cabin.”

Interviewed for the informative segment is Dan Sykes, a teaching professor in Penn State’s Department of Chemistry. “It’s certainly good practice, after the leaves have fallen from the trees, to remove the leaves from your car,” Sykes recommends.

Penn College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in collision repair technology and certicates in automotive restoration and collision repair technician. For more, visit the web page.
