Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming and Union Counties) is hosting his second annual Human Services Expo & Speaker Series at Pennsylvania College of Technology, on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Open to the public and college community, the event intends to connect individuals and families with agencies dedicated to improving physical and mental health and overall well-being.
Nearly 70 vendors have registered and are ready to answer questions and share valuable resources to help community members “live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives.”
Topics and areas of interest include aging, autism, behavioral health, children and adolescents, physical and intellectual disabilities, early intervention, independent living, medical assistance, and services for veterans and military families.
The Speaker Series will run from 2 to 4 p.m. in the college’s Thompson Professional Development Center. Sharing information about suicide prevention efforts and other topics will be retired Army Sgt. Major Kevin Bittenbender, state Rep. Tarik Khan (D-Philadelphia County) and Alivia Tagliaferri, Rep. Flick’s district office manager.
The Human Services Expo is from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Penn College’s Field House. Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen 2024 Arianna Spurlin will share remarks and greet guests at the expo.
The Speaker Series and Expo are free and open to the public. Outdoor signage will direct guests to event locations and parking.
