Pennsylvania College of Technology has named veteran educator Ali L. Lorson as assistant dean of transportation technologies.
Lorson comes to Penn College from the Mifflinburg Area School District, where she served as nontraditional education coordinator. In that role, she provided leadership in the creation, execution and assessment of district services and programs, including growing post-secondary opportunities for students.
Prior to her post in Mifflinburg, Lorson was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in the Jersey Shore Area School District.
As assistant dean of transportation technologies at Penn College, Lorson will oversee automotive, collision repair and restoration, and aviation programs within the School of Engineering Technologies.
“We are very excited to welcome Ali to the School of Engineering Technologies. Her impressive background as both a teacher and educational leader will be a tremendous asset for our Transportation Division. Faculty, staff and students will benefit from Ali’s experience and her dedication to academic excellence,” said Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies.
Lorson earned a bachelor’s degree in education: elementary K-6 from Lock Haven University, a master’s in instructional systems: educational technology from Penn State, and an educational leadership certification: K-12 from Wilkes University.
