At Tuesday afternoon's welcoming picnic at Pennsylvania College of Technology, the team from Aruba captures a memory with two mascots: Little League's Dugout and Penn College's Wildcat.

In a tradition dating back to 2009, Pennsylvania College of Technology once again welcomed the Most Valuable Players in Williamsport, hosting a picnic for the 20 teams set to compete in the Little League Baseball World Series. Held Tuesday afternoon on the center lawns of campus, the cookout preceded the popular Grand Slam Parade, the community’s way of greeting the teams and visitors from all over the world who have made their way to the annual rite of summer, nestled in the rolling hills of northcentral Pennsylvania. Also on hand for the festivities was the parade’s grand marshal, Hall of Famer Jack Morris. Penn College’s parade entry, sporting the theme “Cruisin’ Into Little League,” featured a Baja SAE car (a fierce competitor in another international competition), as well as a team of friendly faces (students, employees and the always-popular Wildcat). Little League Baseball World Series play begins on Wednesday and concludes Aug. 25.
