Penn College reppin' and cheerin' at the Selinsgrove Brewfest! Rachel J. Gobin, a 2022 brewing & fermentation science graduate and brewer at Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte, hands over a sample as brewing instructor Timothy L. Yarrington looks on.

Representatives from Penn College’s brewing & fermentation science major were among those cheering summertime at the Selinsgrove Brewfest, held July 20 near downtown Selinsgrove.

Timothy L. Yarrington, instructor, was joined by 2022 graduate Rachel J. Gobin, a brewer at Axemann Brewery in Bellefonte. Also pitching in was William B. Ernst-Wingfield, a member of the college’s inaugural brewing class, who is the brewer at John Ryan Brewery in Williamsport.

"It's great to have the opportunity to present student products to a large number of beer enthusiasts, as well as beer-curious folks,” Yarrington said. “I welcome any opportunity to let people know about our brewing program and the successes of our grads. We get a lot of positive responses to the beers and excitement when they learn about the program. Our alumni are always great ambassadors, and I am fortunate whenever they are willing to come out on a Saturday to donate their time and energy to support the program.”
