Retired, multidisciplinary faculty member dies; Aug. 3 services set

William “Scott” P. Welch, a retired faculty member who taught in three majors – heavy construction, diesel and aviation – died July 19 at the age of 65. A celebration of life is set for Saturday, Aug. 3, at Christian Church at Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Rd., Cogan Station. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a brief service at 11 a.m. 

Welch began teaching at Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1989 and retired in 2011. He first taught in service & operation of heavy construction equipment, later moving to diesel equipment technology, followed by aviation technology. For the 1994-95 academic year, he served as interim division director of natural resources management/transportation technology.
