The summer heat is on and so are Penn College's New Student Orientations. The first of eight sessions was held Tuesday, welcoming incoming Wildcats to campus prior to the start of the Fall 2024 semester.
Orientation offers ample opportunities to learn more about academic expectations and resources; connect with other future Wildcats and gain a glimpse at campus life; obtain information about books and other supplies; process financial aid; acquire that all-important student ID card; and get answers to a range of questions. Students and their guests also enjoy tours, lunch and Wildcat swag.
All new Penn College students, including transfer students and adult learners, are required to participate in an Orientation. The sessions are coordinated by the Office of Student Engagement.
The next Orientation is set for Thursday. For information or to register for one of the remaining June and July sessions, visit the New Student Orientation site.
Guiding the way are the following orientation leaders: Ivy M. Baker, of Williamsport, human services & restorative justice; Chyanna L. Galagarza, of Williamsport, human services & restorative justice; Josiah P. Garrett, of Harrisburg, graphic design; Tjay T. Gonzalez, of York, human services & restorative justice; Alexis K. Manhart, of Bloomsburg, pre-nursing; and Chakai A. Stanton, of Philadelphia, pre-nursing. Galagarza is serving as orientation captain. Eryn L. Nichols, a May 2024 business administration graduate and former orientation leader, is assisting as the student engagement intern.
