Baja SAE Williamsport is poised to “put Pennsylvania and Williamsport on the map,” according to the dean of engineering technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Hear more about the financial boost the international engineering competition will give to the community in this engaging video created by Pennsylvania Senate Republican Communications videographer Jason Troutman.
“It’s like a mini Little League World Series for Williamsport,” says Bradley M. Webb, dean of engineering technologies.
“Penn College is very deeply proud that we’re able to host this and put Pennsylvania and Williamsport on the map,” he adds, noting that, in the approximate 25 years of the competition’s existence, it has never occurred in the state.
Also catch the interview with Penn College’s team captain Marshall Wade Fowler (shown above), of Sellersville, who received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering design technology this past weekend.
“We’re getting real industry experience before we’re actually out in industry,” Fowler shares, describing the joy team members have experienced bringing their Baja SAE car to life.
The 100 teams competing in Baja SAE Williamsport are arriving Wednesday, May 15, and the event kicks off Thursday; the biggest two competition days land this weekend. For more information, visit the event site.
