Two honor societies induct members

As part of the many end-of-academic-year events, the Pennsylvania College of Technology chapters of two honor societies – Alpha Chi and Phi Theta Kappa– held induction ceremonies.
President Michael J. Reed and Joanna K. Flynn, vice president for academic affairs and provost, participated in the April ceremonies, as did chapter officers and faculty advisers. Alpha Chi’s ceremony was held in the Thompson Professional Development Center, and Phi Theta Kappa’s induction occurred in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium.
Alpha Chi
Alpha Chi’s Pennsylvania Xi Chapter, which is open to baccalaureate enrollees from all academic majors and limited to the top 10 percent of an institution’s junior and senior classes, inducted 21 new members.

Phi Theta Kappa
Penn College’s Beta Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for students in two-year majors, also inducted new members. Each semester, invitation to membership is extended by the chapter to students without advanced degrees who have completed at least 12 hours of coursework leading to an associate degree in which they have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
