Ciocca Collision Center in Montoursville recently donated a Honda door outer panel to Penn College’s collision repair lab, and it has been put to good use.
“The door outer panel is a task the collision repair students are required to complete within their second year in our program,” explained Loren R. Bruckhart, collision repair instructor. “The donation was used to educate second-year students on how to properly measure panel gaps, prepare and perform the task of outer panel replacement following original equipment manufacturer procedures.”
“The door outer panel task involves using adhesives, foams, sealers and specialty tools to hem the outer panel flange to the original door shell,” he added. “This donation provided the means for our students to learn, not only a required task for our accredited collision repair program, but a skill required while working within the collision repair industry.”
Penn College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in collision repair technology and a certificate in collision repair technician.
