Over 1,300 visitors strolled around Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus on Sunday, taking in the sights and celebrations of Accepted Student Day. Rolling out a figurative “Wildcat blue carpet welcome,” faculty and staff greeted and guided 477 accepted students and their eager supporters.
With numerous opportunities to make new connections, escape comfort zones and learn about the home of hands-on learning, the action-packed day unveiled a robust glimpse into the wonderful Wildcat world that awaits them.
"It was a remarkable day, and it was amazing to see so many future Wildcats on this campus," said Bryce W. Winder, coordinator of admissions events and communications. "Can't wait to make this an annual tradition for many years to come!"
Among the festivity's activities was a “Find Your Match” challenge, encouraging incoming students to locate their assigned number (advertised by a sticker) on a fellow attendee, then visit the Office of Student Engagement together to enter a prize drawing. Another prize station was a hot ticket on the first floor of the Davie Jane Gilmour Center.
Various mixers, games, information panels, resources and refreshments were offered, and some explorers hopped a trolley bus to experience Williamsport and its history.
Next up: incoming Wildcats can enroll for one of eight New Student Orientation sessions offered in June and July.
