Wednesday, March 6, 2024

Sarah F. Marino, an enrollment counselor in the Admissions Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been selected for the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s NEXT program. Marino was chosen among several applicants from within Pennsylvania and will be one of three participants sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling.

“Our office is very fortunate to benefit from Sarah’s enthusiasm and passion for college admissions; talents she is now lending to PACAC through her committee involvement,” said Audriana L. Empet, director of admissions. “PACAC selecting her for participation in the NACAC NEXT program means they recognize her as a rising star in the field, and I could not agree more. Her future is bright, and I can’t wait to see how this opportunity helps foster her growth.”

A one-year program for early- to mid-career professionals, NEXT aims to build the leadership capacity of next-generation affiliate leaders with a trajectory for national leadership. Marino will join virtual sessions focused on leadership topics and convene in person with her cohort at the national NACAC Conference in Los Angeles in September.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 2024 NACAC NEXT cohort,” Marino stated. “I've wanted to be in the admissions industry since I was a teenager, so being able to surround myself with like-minded professionals in this capacity is honestly a dream come true.”

A native of Stroudsburg, Marino earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in English: publishing and editing and communication arts: communication studies from Susquehanna University in 2022. She is pursuing her Master of Education in educational leadership and policy analysis, with an emphasis in higher education, from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

A member of PACAC, she is involved in the Conference Planning Committee’s subcommittee "PACACtivities,” as well as the Communications Committee working on articles for the PACER, PACAC's quarterly newsletter.
