Moyer’s “Utopia,” an accordion-fold book featuring original calligraphy and 16 wood engravings, was selected for The Book as Art exhibition at Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia, and three of his wood engravings were accepted into the 2023 International Contemporary Miniprint of Kazanlak at the Kazanlak Art Gallery in Bulgaria.
Moyer’s artbook was among 53 works featured in Decatur’s 11th annual juried exhibition titled “Myth & Magic.” Organized by the Georgia Center for the Book and Decatur Arts Alliance, The Book as Art display showcased a varied collection of inventive works exploring stories and storytelling concepts through beautifully made volumes, sculptural and conceptual interpretations, and one-of-a-kind approaches to the book format.
In the Bulgaria exhibition, 420 works from artists in 35 countries are presented, and Moyer’s pieces will be included as part of a touring exhibition in 2024. Miniprint Kazanlak highlights traditional and experimental prints of high technical quality and imaginative depth and seeks to broaden cultural conversations and insights on the discipline of printmaking.
In addition to the U.S. and Bulgaria, Moyer has exhibited his art in Poland, Lithuania and England.
A Penn College faculty member since Fall 2000, Moyer received a Master of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware.
