A collaborative exhibit with The Gallery at Penn College resulted in one of numerous industry honors recently earned by the World of Little League Museum.
The museum took home a program-record four ISHY Awards this year, as presented by the International Sports Heritage Association, for its creative content marking the 75th anniversary of the Little League Baseball World Series.
In addition to awards for a video, souvenir program and social media campaign, the museum was singled out for its presentation of "A Diamond Anniversary: A Celebration of 75 Years of the Little League Baseball World Series" in the gallery from June 7-Aug. 25, 2022.
“It is a thrill for our organization to win four ISHY Awards this year, and we are honored to be recognized by our peers in the sports heritage community,” said Adam Thompson, museum director. “We are incredibly proud of the content created to celebrate the Diamond Anniversary of the Little League Baseball World Series, and look forward to creating more content to celebrate the next 75 years of the iconic event.”
Thompson traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida, to accept the awards.
"Penn College was pleased to once again collaborate with Little League to present its 75th Anniversary exhibition. The fans that visited the exhibit were offered a rare glimpse into LL history," said Penny Griffin Lutz, gallery director. "Culling images from their vast collection, the Little League Museum loaned us photographs that are rarely on view at their facility. The exhibit was a win-win for both organizations."
This was the gallery's third such partnership; others were In the Field of Play: The Little League Baseball World Series through the lens of Putsee Vannucci, 1947-1990 (2013); and Charles Fazzino: Collective Pop (2014).
