An impressive contingent of Pennsylvania College of Technology students experienced the recent National Electrical Contractors Association Annual Convention in Philadelphia.
Twenty-five students – accompanied by faculty members Eric L. Anstadt, electrical technology/occupations, and Darrin S. Morse, electrical construction – attended the convention and trade show, billed as the electrical construction industry’s premier event.
The students interacted with several industry leaders, including two supporters of the college: Klein Tools and Fluke Corp. Both companies featured Penn College students on their social media platforms.
Klein has donated department tool kits for the electrical construction, electrical technology and mechatronics technology majors. At the convention, the company provided students with a gift bag, valued at over $200, containing a hard hat, canvas bags, non-contact voltage tester, screwdriver and a pair of linesman pliers.
Last year, Fluke donated eight motor drive analyzers, valued at $68,391, for the college’s Machine Analysis Lab. Toffee Coleman, education marketing and field sales lead for Fluke, interviewed Penn College students during the convention about the impact of that donation.
“Our industry partners are a valuable resource for our students, and I cannot begin to thank them enough for their investment,” Anstadt said. “The partnerships that we have made will continue to benefit students for many years to come and make our job as educators much simpler.”
