Penn College mechatronics student receives scholarship

A foundation dedicated to supporting packaging and processing education has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to a Pennsylvania College of Technology mechatronics student.

Marissa R. Rupert, of Danville, is one of six students in North America to receive the PACK EXPO scholarship from the PMMI Foundation of the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. A Dean’s List student, Rupert is seeking a bachelor’s degree in automation engineering technology: mechatronics. She is also pursuing a bachelor’s in software development & information management.

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Marissa R. Rupert, of Danville, is one of six students in North America to receive a $5,000 scholarship from the PMMI Foundation of the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. Rupert is seeking two bachelor’s degrees: automation engineering technology: mechatronics and software development & information management.

Students must major in engineering, packaging, processing, mechatronics or a related field; excel academically; and demonstrate a commitment to the industry in order to qualify for a PACK EXPO scholarship. Since its inception in 1998, the PMMI Foundation has contributed more than $2.8 million to strengthen the packaging and processing industry workforce.
