A memorial service will be Saturday for Ray F. Tyler, a retired member of the Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology business faculty, who died July 18 at the age of 93.
He brought his management experience to WACC in September 1969, continuing in a full-time capacity until his August 2000 retirement from Penn College as an associate professor of business administration. He continued as a part-time substitute instructor through March 2009.
Among his survivors is his wife, Karen W., who retired in 2007-08 as secretary to financial operations at the college.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 5, 2023, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with his nephew, Thomas Bruner Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where a Masonic funeral service will be held at 10:45 a.m. A full obituary is available at McCarty-Thomas' website.
