Hurwitz renews board-certified specialist designation

Victoria Hurwitz, director of the physical therapist assistant program at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was recently recertified as a Board-Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist.
The certification is governed by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. Board-Certified Clinical Specialists demonstrate competency in specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency.
Hurwitz, a licensed physical therapist, has been director of physical therapist assistant at Penn College since 2020. Previously, she was a pelvic health physical therapist for UPMC Williamsport.
Her prior work also includes UnityPoint Health - Meriter, in Madison, Wisconsin, where she was a level III physical therapist/women’s health team lead; The Center for Pelvic Floor and Core Rehabilitation, in Cincinnati, where she was a lead physical therapist; and Balance Fitness for Life, in Willowbrook, Illinois, where she was a physical therapist.
Hurwitz holds Doctor of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Health Sciences degrees from the University of Miami. She completed a Women’s Health Residency through the American Board of Physical Therapy Residence and Fellowship Education at Women’s Health Physical Therapy in Richmond, Virginia. She is a graduate of the American Physical Therapist Association’s Fellowship in Education Leadership.
She is a member of the International Pelvic Pain Society; a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Academy of Pelvic Health and Academy of Physical Therapy Education; and a past member of the Specialization Academy of Content Experts, which writes items for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties’ certification exams.
