The Williamsport Chapter of UPE is advised by Stephen R. Cheskiewicz and Daniel W. Yoas, associate professors of computer information technology. Presiding over the induction were John M. Maize, Riverside, chapter president; Clinton J. Leberknight, Pleasant Hall, active member; and Parker J. Conn, Boalsburg, historian. All are enrolled in the college's information assurance & cyber security major.
The honor society – which is recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies, the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing Machinery and the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies – chartered its first chapter at Texas A&M University on Jan. 10, 1967. Penn College gained its charter in 2020 and is one of 19 chapters of Upsilon Pi Epsilon in the commonwealth.
