Newswatch 16's Chris Keating made a Tuesday visit to campus for Wildcat Rotorfest, an interactive career day bringing together emergency response and aviation employers, current Penn College students and faculty, and dual-enrollment students from K-12 schools and career technology centers.
He interviewed William A. Schlosser, a member of the college's emergency management and homeland security faculty, about the event, at which students from seven counties had firsthand access to an impressive array of helicopters, drones and emergency response vehicles.
"The idea started with the question: 'How do we bring more agencies onto campus that our majors connect with?' Schlosser told the Central Pennsylvania Bureau reporter. "Whether it be our ... aviation mechanics or our emergency managers, all the organizations here directly hire our majors on campus."
Keating's piece premiered during a late-afternoon newscast and has been posted to the ABC affiliate's webpage.
