Paul R. Watson II, Pennsylvania College of Technology's former dean of academic success, has been named president of Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan.
“In partnership with all constituents – the Board of Trustees, faculty, administrators, staff, community members, employers and students – I am eager to lead this institution as we provide all students with excellent instruction, accessible pathways to rewarding careers and opportunities to successfully transfer to other institutions,” said Watson, who had served as Kellogg’s interim president since April.
Nationally, he joins three other active college presidents with local campus roots:
James E. Middleton, whose 11-year tenure included service as chief academic officer at Williamsport Area Community College and Penn College, was president at College of Marin in Kentfield, California, from 1994-2004, and at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon, from 2004-14.
