Trometter installed as VP for statewide hospitality association

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Chef Mary G. Trometter, assistant professor of hospitality management/culinary arts, was recently installed as vice president for education for the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association Educational Foundation.



Chef Mary G. TrometterThe foundation’s Education Committee plans cost-effective, profitable workshops, seminars and classes that further the professional educational goals of PRLA members. The committee also serves as a legislative watchdog against anti-industry legislation and regulations related to food safety and health.

Installation of officers took place during the association’s annual conference, held Sept. 12-13 in Hershey.

In 2017, she received the college’s Excellence in Teaching Award. She earned an associate degree in food and hospitality management from Penn College forerunner Williamsport Area Community College, a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from Widener University, and a Master of Education from Wilkes University.

The Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association, one of the largest state hospitality and tourism associations in the nation, champions all facets of the commonwealth’s hospitality and tourism industries. Its mission is to promote, protect, educate and improve these industries. Hospitality and tourism are significant drivers of Pennsylvania’s economy.
