Pennsylvania College of Technology recently welcomed its fourth annual class of student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society: 23 inductees representing nine teams, 14 distinct majors and an average GPA of 3.64.
"Induction into Chi Alpha Sigma is a distinctive recognition of the exceptional gifts, talents, skills and positive energy our student-athletes bring to our campus, classrooms and contests," said Tom Zimmerman, chapter adviser and faculty athletic representative. "We are honored and proud to recognize them and their achievements."
This year's class joins 64 previous inductees. Student-athletes must be in their junior or senior year with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 to be eligible.

Penn College is a member of Alpha Iota Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, which was officially chartered on Jan. 8, 2019, and joins more than 220 Division I, II and III colleges and universities, including three schools from the United East Conference, in recognizing elite student-athletes who succeed in their sport and in the classroom.
Joining Zimmerman for the induction ceremony, held earlier this month in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium, were President Davie Jane Gilmour; Elliott Strickland Jr., vice president for student affairs; Matt J. Blymier, assistant athletic director-compliance and athletic communications; and Britni E. Mohney, head coach, women’s basketball/senior woman administrator.
