Guest readers – Penn College employees who have authored children’s books – joined in the Dunham Children’s Learning Center’s celebration of the 2022 Week of the Young Child by sharing their works with the campus’s youngest citizens.
On Wednesday, Tom Speicher, writer/video producer, read his book “A Week With Waffles,” starring his real-life pet guinea pig, with the children and answered such questions as: “What sound does a guinea pig make?”
On Thursday, Megan E. Rogers, author of “Meet Mason” and SASC information desk assistant, shared the book she wrote about her 10-year-old son, who is blind. The Week of the Young Child is an initiative of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The annual event celebrates early learning, young children, their teachers and families.
In related news, Speicher traveled to Wilkes-Barre on Friday for an appearance on WBRE’s “PA live!” with co-hosts Christopher Bohinski and Rachel Malak.
