Sea of yellow shares hopeful message, lifts Wildcats to victory

Thursday, March 17, 2022

The campus community gathered at UPMC Field on Wednesday afternoon for the centerpiece of a weeklong "Yellow It Out" campaign for suicide prevention and awareness: a men's lacrosse game against Alvernia University. Faculty/staff and students brightly dressed in Penn College spirit wear in support of the Student Affairs initiative that provided valuable information, in addition to opportunities for camaraderie, compassion and commiseration. Behind a four-goal performance by Quinn F. Caviola, a welding and fabrication engineering technology student-athlete from Ridgefield, Conn., the Wildcats posted a 13-10 comeback win. Among other activities were information tables, training for students and employees, an always-welcome visit from therapy dogs, food trucks, a "crafternoon" project, and use of a #pcthope hashtag for shared photographs.
