Near (and deer)

On the sunny heels of a last-gasp snow day, and fittingly furnished with creatures from chilly climes, the Office of Student Engagement held a Winter Fest on the north side of campus Sunday afternoon. The event (postponed from earlier in the semester) was held in the Vine Avenue/Klump Academic Center area, and included food trucks, ax-throwing, live music and photo ops with friends from Spruce Ridge Reindeer.

"Pen" College? A pregnant 3-year-old reindeer named Kneezie rests while 10-month-old Topper (who shares a name with the lost penguin in the "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" TV special) snags a snack between visitors. They are among 10 reindeer – five females and five males – at Spruce Run.
