A Pennsylvania College of Technology manufacturing student is one of four undergraduates nationwide to be awarded a “trades” scholarship.
Alec D. Rees, of Centerport, New York, received a $2,500 scholarship from Rock the Trades, a workforce development initiative that raises awareness of careers in the skilled trades by celebrating the American industrial worker.
Rock the Trades recently featured Rees on its website , detailing the freshman’s passion for working with his hands and dedication to pursuing a career in the skilled trades. A Dean’s List student, Rees is seeking an associate degree in machine tool technology.
