'All is calm, and all is bright'

As the semester shutdown nears – students and employees departing for more than a fortnight of reverence, revelry and relaxation – a Penn College photographer took in the seasonal displays that grace the flip side of the workday. From the welcoming glow that parallels Maynard Street to the twinkling treasures that inhabit the main campus's interior, please enjoy this window on the after-hours holiday magic.

The "broken-down" Dodge truck that greets passersby near College Avenue Labs ...

At the eastern entrance, newly refurbished pillars exude warmth.

Even with the fountains turned off, there's much to appreciate along the entranceway – including a tin soldier on watch outside the "guard house."

Replicating the red, white and blue motif of the fluttering "Stars and Stripes" across Hagan Way, the lights of the Veterans Holiday Tree shimmer outside Madigan Library.

A dandelion sprinkler on warmer days, this attraction by The Victorian House is no less stunning when turning wintry blue.
