Capitol Eatery transformed into a “movie set" of sorts this week when a production crew filmed a video for Mrs. T’s Pierogies in the Dauphin Hall dining unit. In addition to utilizing one of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s inspiring spaces, four students were cast as “actors” for the marketing piece.
“Penn College has always been a wonderful customer and partner with Mrs. T’s. We’re excited for this opportunity for the campus to host our college and university marketing video campaign,” said Victoria DeHart, Mrs. T’s regional sales manager for eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and the mid-Atlantic, and national college and university specialist. “The video will be shared with food service directors and executive chefs at colleges and universities throughout the country to showcase the benefits of Mrs. T’s pierogies.”
Drafted to “co-star” in the video were: Caila N. Flanagan, Williamsport, business management: management concentration; Michael E. Highland II, Slatington, electronics and computer engineering technology; Kellor A. Schooley, Turbotville, network administration and engineering technology; and Sophia G. Wiest, Butler, entrepreneurial innovation. The students are on campus this summer, working as Connections Links (the college’s new-student orientation leaders).
“It was such a fun experience, and the crew members were wonderful to work with!” enthused Flanagan. “I'm so glad I had the chance to partake in such a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I mean, who else can say they got to be in a Mrs. T's pierogie commercial?!”
Schooley added, “I personally loved the whole experience. It was great to get myself out there and meet others while doing something I’ve never done before. I really connected well with the staff and facility, and they made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I won’t soon forget!”
In addition to the Penn College foursome, 14 other individuals made up the 18-member production crew, including marketing and creative professionals from Mrs. T’s, headquartered in Shenandoah; Allebach Communications, of Souderton; and Simone Associates, of Lebanon.
A number of Penn College Dining Services personnel also pitched in throughout the process.
“I would like to say a huge 'Thank you' to Amy Lingg, Mark Leo and Danna Brooks for all of their efforts on this project,” DeHart said. “We’ve been working on the planning for this day for six to eight weeks. We couldn’t have asked for better partners in this process.”
The Mrs. T’s campaign will present a range of recipe options to highlight the versatility and profitability of the product.
