U.S. Rep. Fred Keller (R-12) visited Penn College on Wednesday morning, moderating a two-hour roundtable discussion on veterans' issues. Joined in the Thompson Professional Development Center by William Klaips, public affairs officer and executive assistant to the director of the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, the congressman began by updating attendees on his push to fully reopen the National Personnel Resources Center and clear a COVID-era backlog of 500,000 service-records requests necessary for access to military benefits. The event also solicited feedback from personnel representing a number of regional counties' veterans affairs offices.
