Qiang Cao, assistant professor of radiography for Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam to become certified and registered in MRI.
Cao, a registered radiologic technologist, also holds credentials in computed tomography and plans to become certified as a magnetic resonance safety officer.
He joined the Penn College faculty in 2017. He holds a doctorate in biochemistry from Florida State University and a Master of Science in environmental chemistry from Florida A&M University. He was a graduate teaching assistant at Florida State and a postdoctoral fellow, focused on cancer research, at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has numerous conference abstracts, presentations and research publications.
When Cao moved to Williamsport to be closer to family, he enrolled at Penn College, where he earned an associate degree in radiography in 2015 and a certificate in MRI in 2016. He works in CT and MRI at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Penn College offers an associate degree in radiography that can be continued to an online bachelor’s degree in applied health studies: radiography concentration.
