American Red Cross Blood Services collected 137 pints at Penn College's Bush Campus Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, shattering the 96-unit goal for the two-day visit. Each donation potentially helps three patients, which amounts to as many as 411 lives saved by the college community's collective thoughtfulness. Also helped by the Bloodmobile's success was the ongoing fight against pediatric cancer, as Penn College Benefiting THON will receive $4 per donor – a total of $548 on behalf of the Four Diamonds Fund. Online appointments are available for the next blood drive at Penn's Inn (noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 7-8).
