'Closer to Home' series to reopen CAC stage

Friday, January 15, 2021

The Community Arts Center is starting the new year welcoming local musicians to the Bill Martin Stage for its new Closer to Home series. The artists slated for the series so far are Gabe Stillman (Feb. 27), Aaron Kelly (March 13) and Craig Thatcher (March 27). Centers for Disease Control guidelines will be in effect, and Gov. Tom Wolf's mandate will be followed closely through socially distanced seating and safety protocols.

Aaron Kelly“We’re excited that the governor’s recent directives give us a path back to performance. There will be no national tours stopping here this spring, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t talented artists around here that can bring a crowd into the socially distanced COVID CAC," explained Chuck Still, CAC executive director. "We want to showcase some of these performers and open our doors to the community again. We’re calling it the Closer To Home series and I hope our patrons will don their masks and darken our doors. It’s been a long intermission, and the CAC is ready to do what it does best.”

The CAC hopes to continue the series through 2021 with additional performers being added as guidelines allow. The Closer To Home series is sponsored by M&T Bank; tickets can be purchased at the Arts Center website.
