In-house artist designs Homecoming T-shirt

Ebersole models one of her commemorative creations, with a little help from some appropriately attired 'Student Bodies."Homecoming and Parent & Family Celebration logoWhen Office of Student Engagement staff talked about having a student work on a giveaway for this year's Homecoming and Parent & Family Celebration, they soon realized that help was but a few feet away: Morgan K. Ebersole, a graphic design major who has worked as a Bush Campus Center Information Desk assistant since Fall 2016.

T-shirts bearing Ebersole's design will be distributed free to students throughout this week – pop-up locations will be listed on Student Life social media and the Stall Wall Weekly – and available for sale ($10.95) at The College Store for alumni, families and employees.



I wanted to create a design that stood out from other shirts I've seen on campus, but still represented the college well," she said. "I also wanted to make a design that could be worn by everyone since so many people will have the opportunity to get one.

The Martinsburg resident said she was drawn to graphic design because it offers the "perfect mix" of creativity and structure.

My favorite aspect of the major is having such a close relationship with other students and faculty in the department," she added. "It makes asking for help or critique super easy, and it's always nice to know you have a group of people that care about you and your work.


Homecoming and Parent & Family Celebration is the perfect time for members of the Penn College community to show their Wildcat pride. The 2020 event looks a bit different this year; while some in-person activities will be held for current students, alumni and family events are all virtual.

Lest anyone think that COVID-19 has completely upended campus norms, student leaders on Monday morning added a Wildcat Blue luster to the Veterans' Fountain for the eighth consecutive year.

With guidance from General Services horticulturist Matthew P. Barrett, Student Government Association President Ethan M. McKenzie and Wildcat Events Board President Caila N. Flanagan took turns pouring dye into the water feature outside the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center at first light.
