A $2,500 grant from the Waldron Memorial Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania has been awarded to the Community Arts Center, specifically to assist Muncy School District students in attending the facility's 2020-21 Educational Series shows.
The Educational Series, offered free to students, serves nine school districts in Lycoming and Sullivan counties. All costs related to the program – including artists' fees, technical labor and busing – are absorbed by the CAC.
“Many young people do not have the opportunity to experience the arts live, making the Series an essential part of their education beyond the classroom,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, the Arts Center's development director.
FCFPA works to improve the quality of life in northcentral Pennsylvania through community leadership, the promotion of philanthropy, the strengthening of nonprofit impact and the perpetual stewardship of charitable assets.
“This type of support from the Foundation is crucial for the sustainability of the Educational Series,” CAC Executive Director Chuck Still explained. The $2,500 Waldron grant follows a $5,000 contribution from the PPL Foundation toward next season's Educational Series.
The Community Arts Center, a vital part of the Williamsport/Susquehanna Valley cultural scene since 1993, provides exceptional arts and entertainment for the community through programming that is appropriate to the diverse interests and needs of the regional audience it serves.
