Adviser Card 2020The 82 faculty/staff advisers who mentor Penn College's 60-plus student organizations were celebrated last week by the Office of Student Engagement for the "guidance, dedication and support they provide ... each and every day."

The second annual Student Organization Adviser Appreciation Week (April 20-24) included a number of online tributes: a message from Elliott Strickland, vice president for student affairs; a GIF greeting card (at right); and posts on Penn College Student Life's Facebook page and the myPCT portal.

"It’s during times like these that people really reflect on what they appreciate. And our students clearly appreciate the opportunity they have to learn, grow, develop and socialize through their student clubs and organizations," Strickland said in an email to advisers. "The work you do enriches the lives of so many of our students. It makes them better, and it makes Penn College better. So, from a social distance, I’d like to say, 'Thank you for all you do!'"

The observance culminated in a virtual awards ceremony, during which Stephen R. Cheskiewicz, assistant professor of computer information and adviser to the Wildcat Online Gaming Association, was named Student Organization Adviser of the Year.
