WNEP’s Chris Keating spoke remotely Tuesday with Spyke M. Krepshaw, assistant professor of web and interactive media, about the faculty member's recent offer of website assistance to businesses engaged in e-commerce during the coronavirus crisis.
Keating also talked with Jason C. Fink, president/CEO of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, about the project, in which Krepshaw enlisted students for an undeniably real-world experience.
The free service will be provided not only to restaurants, where sales are limited to takeout and delivery, but to any impacted business in Lycoming County.
"Templated website. If they have a logo, we'll do that; if they have a color scheme, we'll do that," Krepshaw said. "I'd love to have a business description, obviously, a little bit about them as a business, contact information – and then the real piece that matters the most is that e-commerce piece." Keating's story premiered during the 7 p.m. newscast.
