Stabley, whose talents have brought three large-scale mosaics to campus, has been commissioned by Public ARTWORKS, a committee of Lycoming Arts, to enhance a wall of The Firestone Building at Market and East Fourth streets in downtown Williamsport.
Assisting Stabley is Carol Cillo, an artist, arts advocate and color expert from Lock Haven. Measuring 12 feet by 12 feet, the mosaic features artists’ tools and the word “Arts.” The duo struggled with recent stormy weather, but relished the sunshine and ideal work conditions Monday and Tuesday. First Friday visitors are encouraged to check out the mosaic’s progress as they explore the downtown arts scene on June 7.
