Wrestling
Competing in the North-South Duals on Saturday at Ursinus College, Penn College went 2-2, to go to 9-7 on the season after wins over Rutgers-Camden, 42-12, and Elizabethtown College, 34-21, and losses to Shippensburg University, 27-12; and Muhlenberg College, 35-16. Comparatively, a year ago at the same event, Penn College lost to Elizabethtown, 35-21.

Leading the Wildcats were Dylan Gettys, of Etters, at 174 and 184 pounds, and Dylan Otis, of Wyalusing, at heavyweight, who each went 4-0 with three bonus-point wins.

Also, Cam Dickey, of Williamsport, went 2-0 at 141 and 149 with two additional exhibition wins; Colin Browne, of Wilkes-Barre, went 3-1 at 184 and 174; Jesse Walker, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, went 3-1 at 149 and 157; Dan Bergeron, of Jackson, New Jersey, went 2-2 at 165; and Jared Mooney, of Palmerton, went 2-2 at 197.

According to coach Jamie Miller, Browne’s wins against Shippensburg and Elizabethtown were huge as his E-Town win “basically sealed the dual for us (he bumped up a weight class to 184) and his Shippensburg win at 174 snapped a streak of five losses in a row and kicked off a string of four straight wins.”

Miller also noted that Dickey had his first unbeaten day and got a huge bonus-point win in the E-Town match after bumping up to 149 to get the team going when it was down 18-0.

At 10 a.m. Saturday at the Liberty Arena, Penn College hosts the Mid-Winter Classic featuring Johns Hopkins University, McDaniel College, Hunter College and Rhode Island College.
