Penn College sports teams have light week

During a light week scheduling-wise because of the Thanksgiving holiday, just one Pennsylvania College of Technology sports team saw action.

Hosting crosstown rival Lycoming College on Tuesday, the Penn College women lost, 63-46, to drop to 0-3. Madison Klock, of Elysburg, led the Wildcats with 17 points. Penn College bench players outscored Lycoming’s bench, 46-12; the Warriors, however, led in points in the paint, 42-12.

The men’s basketball team returns to action at 6 p.m. Monday when it hosts Lycoming at Bardo Gymnasium, and the men’s and women’s hoop teams begin North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at College of St. Elizabeth. The college’s wrestlers step back onto the mats Friday at the Messiah College Petrofes Invitational.

Last meeting vs. Penn State Abington: Lost 82-70 on Jan. 18, 2017.

Statistically speaking: Through four games, the Wildcats are averaging 63.3 points per game on offense and allowing 88.5. Ben Sosa, of Loyalsock Township, leads the team with a 17.8-points-per-game scoring average and Ryan Lockman, of White Salmon, Washington, is second in scoring with a 16.5 average.

Last meeting vs. Penn State Abington: Lost 66-50 on Jan. 18, 2017.

Statistically speaking: Through three games, the Wildcats are averaging 48.6 points per game on offense and allowing 66.3. Klock leads the team in scoring with 15.7 points per game.
