Wildcat Soccer Teams Shine in NEAC

Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s soccer teams each posted North Eastern Athletic Conference victories last week and both remained among the leaders.

Women's Soccer
Squaring off Wednesday at home against Penn State Harrisburg, a nonconference foe this year that will become a member of the NEAC next season, Penn College suffered its first loss of the season, 2-0. Harrisburg led in shots, 20-8 (12-4 on goal), and in corner kicks, 6-1.


Returning to NEAC play at home on Saturday against College of St. Elizabeth, the Wildcats rolled to an 11-0 win as they improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Tiffany Brown, of Mechanicsburg, scored three times for Penn College and Kaelan Cronan, of Leesport, tallied twice and assisted on two other goals. Erica Gallagher, of Wyoming, also had two assists. The Wildcats dominated in shots, 28-2 (19-1 on goal), and led in corner kicks, 8-3.

Men's Soccer
Hosting College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday, Penn College got two goals each from Colton Wartman, of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Vance Gradwell, of Bernville, in a 7-1 win as it improved to 2-1 in the NEAC and 2-4 overall. Gradwell and Wartman also each assisted on other Penn College goals. The Wildcats led in shots, 19-4 (12-3 on goal), and corner kicks, 6-1.

Golf
Competing Tuesday in the Elizabethtown Invitational at Hershey Country Club East, the Wildcats finished eighth among 18 teams with a 320. Gettysburg took team honors with a 292. Individually for Penn College, Ned Baumbach, of Elizabethtown, and Tyler Marks, of Beachwood, New Jersey, led the way with 79s, tying for 32nd  in a 90-player field. Gettysburg’s Dane Sethre-Hofstad medaled with a 68.


Women's Volleyball
In a NEAC triangular on Saturday at Cazenovia College, Penn College lost 1-3 (25-27, 11-25, 25-20, 7-25) to the home team and 0-3 (3-25, 7-25, 8-25) to Morrisville State College to drop to 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Against Cazenovia, Hannah Burnett, of Middlebury Center, had 20 assists. Against Morrisville State, Michayla Roberts, of Newville, had 13 digs.
