The outdoor courtyard of the Dunham Children’s Learning Center was filled with lather and laughter on Thursday, when the children were treated to a General Services-crafted “bubble machine.” Thanks to the ingenuity (and kindness) of horticulturists Chad L. Karstetter and Michael L. Bremigen, the kids had a ball in the summer suds. Utilizing objects already on hand – PVC pipe, a plastic tub, Shop-Vac, blanket and ratchet tie-down – the resourceful duo fashioned a conduit for fun. Just add water and dish detergent and ... voila! The only thing that lured the kids away was another treat: ice cream. Perfectly summing up the children's joyful display, CLC director Barbara J. Albert shared a poem by Cherissa Buehler:
Bubbles on my shoulders,
Bubbles on my knee,
Bubbles on the top of my head,
For all the world to see.
